I’m going to teach you how to sync Google Chrome extensions in Chromium-based browsers.

Open settings

Open Google Chrome or any Chromium-based browser.
In the top right, click the three-dot menu. That menu gives you access to settings and tools.

Manage sync

Select Sync and Google services.
This is where you decide what the browser should keep in sync across your devices.
Click Manage what you sync.

Choose Customize sync to pick specific categories.
Turn on Extensions, which is the key setting here.
Turning on the extensions toggle tells your browser to remember which extensions you use so the same set can appear when you sign in elsewhere.

Choosing Customize sync gives you more control if you only want extensions to follow you.
You can keep bookmarks, history, or passwords separate.

If you are not signed in, click Turn on sync.
Sign in with your Google account.
Sync only works when you are signed in and applies to any device using the same account with sync enabled.

If sync does not start or shows an error, see sync fix.

Permissions and data

Some extension data behaves differently depending on the developer.
You may be asked to grant permissions again on a new device, which is normal.

Managed accounts

If you use a work or school account, your organization might manage these settings.
Some options could be restricted.

Different Chromium browsers

If your labels look slightly different, that is okay.
Many Chromium browsers rename these sections, but the path is generally the same.
Go to Settings, find your profile or Google services, and then Manage what you sync.

If a settings page opens blank, see white screen.

Keep your setup consistent

Once Extensions is on and sync is enabled with your account, you are all set.
When you sign into the same account on another device, your extension list will populate automatically.
This keeps your setup consistent and saves you from reinstalling tools one by one.

Final thoughts

Turn on sync, customize what you sync, and ensure the Extensions toggle is enabled.
Sign in with the same account on each device, and expect to reapprove permissions for some extensions.
If you run into issues, adjust settings in the same path across Chromium-based browsers.
